Strength and Hope - Less is more!

Afternoon again, I have managed to get up today and ventured out for lunch at our local MS cafe held every friday morning run buy volunteers trying to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dad took me, we had lunch with other people like myself. It's a nice place everyone understanding and very supportive. When I got home I was supposed to rest but decided I would start my bunting. Instead I made this card.
This feels like a refreshing change from my last two technical cards. It was made in minutes!

The stamp set Strength and Hope is very appropriate as I have had two years of chemotherapy to try and stop the progression of my MS. So I thought I might send this to the lady that runs the cafe to say thank you for the wonderful job she does.

See I can do clean and simple, but tomorrow I will be working on the Nursery bunting, just got side tracked today.

Card- Whisper White
Ink- Pretty in Pink
Stamps- Hope and Strength
Embellishments- Rhinestones
Tools- Paper Trimmer

Hope you like it!

Special Christening Card

Good afternoon all, well I am still in bed resting and sleeping, but yesterday my wonderful support worker and carers helped me finish this card for a customer. The were running to the printer, back and forth to the big shot machine trying to follow my instructions of what colour which drawer, I have to say they did a fab job in helping me finish this card. So thanks guys, even in bed I am making cards! :-)

I was asked for an A5 card, some pink, elegant and not religious and special. So what do you think. All SU products but the sentiment was typed on the computer as requested.
The front was folded back to give some depth to the card.

The smaller circles were embossed and the large die scallop was edged using the crop-a-dile, and inked using the sponge daubers.

The roses were all with paper and card just folded. Leaves punched out to finish it off.

Let me know what you think? Once you have the design it would not take long to reproduce. This would also make a nice wedding or special occasion card.

Inks- Pink Pirouette
Paper- DSP Subtles
Embellishments- Rhinestones, Neutral Buttons
Punches- Bird Punch
Tools- Circles Die, Scallop Circle Die, Vintage Embossing Folder SU.
Card- Whisper White

Hope you like it!

Daisy Flower FilpFlop Birthday Card

Unfortunately still in bed but able to upload these pictures so you can see what I have been working on for a customer.
This is a bit of a blast from the past, have not made one of these cards for years, so I got out my shoe, traced the shape and just made it smaller, a bit of free hand required, I used the large oval punch at each side to get an even cut to help shape it.

I have made this card for a special 8 year old who will love the flip flop, I added her age to the inside of the sole since these photo's

The flowers were inked and layered using the different sides of the DSP paper.

I stamped happy birthday where the shoe label usually is.

I cut around to make an insole and inked around the edges. Oh and made a box!

To my friends Agnes, Lyn and Chris no sand or shells were added sorry!

The card was cut to allow the straps to go through to the back and was glued and secured with a punched out shape before the insert was added.

Card- Melon Mambo and Very Vinilla
Inks- Melon Mambo, Black staz on
Stamps- Curly Cute and sale-a-bration set for the butterfly
Punch- Large Heart and x large oval.
Paper- DSP sweet and Sour
Embellishments- Dimentionals, Tombo glue, Daubers, Paper trimmer/score, Rhinestones
Tools-Big shot die- Daisy Flower

Hope you like it!

Tutorial- Ornament Punch Flower

Tutorial to make the Ornament Punch flower

Picture 1- Using the Ornament Punch, punch out 18 petals
Punch out a Circle 1"3/8"
I have arranged these in 3 sets of 4 this creates the first three layers of the flower.
The next two sets of three are the centre pieces.
Set out like this to make building it easier.
Attach sticky strip to the top of the baubles and cover the circle.
As in picture 3 curl all the petals.

Picture 2- Ink using the same or contrasting colour to give depth to each petal use a dauber and ink all petals. See effect on picture 9.
The six to the right hand side of picture 1 are for the centre and are inked front and back. Ink the middle again for depth.

Picture 3- I have curled the centre pieces using a pen, my Stampin Up one!
You can see that each one in these six gets tighter to help for the centre petals.

Picture 4- I have set these out so you can see how I build each layer, bend back the top so the sticky strip attaches to the circle. Moving in each time and rotated to ensure it's not too structured.
These are not curled to ensure a better picture of layout. See final picture 9

Picture 5- remove the sticky strip and start attaching the first four petals.

Picture 6- The next layer moves in and fills in the gaps- these are just laid out so you can see the way you build it.

Picture 7 - The centre ones start to move away from groups of four, start with the first three these link in with the rotation.

Picture 8- The last three get tighter together and fill the centre.

Picture 9- You can see that as it builds up The top of the ornament becomes the bit you stick down.
This one was inked in Pumpkin Pie on Daffodil Delight you can see the depth it creates.
I have added glitter to this flower.

If you have any problems leave a comment or email me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Vogue - Party-make and takes

This was Lucy's party workshop in my home last Saturday. Four fab girls, we had a great time, with demonstrations, make and takes and ribbon techniques shared. They were all creative and changed the design on each card they were all so excited!

This was the pack they all received before the party with a hand stamped Wish List.

Lucy concentrating on the ribbon bow technique!

This was Sarah's version using the techniques and making it her own design, just loving it!

This was Nic's card, she changed the bow to a rose and rhinestones in different places and it looks great. Nic is a scrapbooker at heart but still enjoyed the day.

This was my final version, started as an easel card and is now just the topper, it's had a few additional flowers which have Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Great to see how creative everyone gets once you're shown a few ideas.

If you would like to book a party at my home with a group of friends, we can craft and test out the products and make cards. Please call me on 01904 492366 I still have party dates available.

Check out the online catalogue and the retiring list, a few bargains to be had.

Hope you like them, well done girls.

Ornament Flower Gift Box Topper

Hi again, I have been trying to use the ornament punch to make flowers as seen in other posts, I have now taken this to the next level and made a topper for a gift box. I have taken lots of photos so hang in there as I just love the effect. This was made for a gift voucher so the box is very slim but it would be lovely for the top of a wedding post box or table decorations. I am working on a christmas one now. so watch this space.

I then made the 50th birthday card my friends Mum to go with the box, she loves gardening so I made the colours to tone in, I will post again with the card details.

Hope she liked it!

See you soon

Christmas Cards

These were made for my last Card Class, some designs have been around a number blogs, first seen on Andrea Walford's and a number of twists along the way. So thanks for sharing ideas, it's great to develop as they pass along the blogs. Hope you like them.

Old Olive, Real Red, Ornament Punch, DSP Jolly Holidays. You can make so many variations I loved playing with these designs once you have got an idea. I love sharing these ideas.

This also uses Grey DSP Paper Stack, and Grey ink pad. I also used the Scallop Punch and made holes with the Crop-a-Dile on each scallop. I also used the Silver Cord and the Cury Cute Sentiment.

Flowers inspired by Monica Gale's recent card. I have then used the Label Punch and Four Frames and Contempo Christmas sentiment, play about with the label punch you can make so many shapes and designs. The background is from the Baroque Motifs stamp set stamped in Old Olive ink pad. Card is Very Vanilla, Real Red and Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon and in Real Red.

I used the Bohol Blossom Punch for these flowers, I cut the pet els to make them 3D.

Rhinestones added, I used an embossing tool to give it 3D effect.

Hope you like it!
